In order to do a sound requirement analysis for people with physical impairments, LIFEtool developed an appropriate questionnaire and interviewed six persons. The participants were carefully chosen to get the whole spectrum of needs of people who operate the PC with their head only. The interviews were ideally conducted at home or at the workplace to get a lively and practical insight into the specific needs and challenges. All participants are already equipped with assistive technologies like mouth operated mouse devices or eye gaze control and are experts in using their individual solutions. The inquiry confirmed a high and general satisfaction with the technology in use on one hand, but also provided important suggestions for improvement and ideas for new developments.
